Reading Practice with phonetic cards

Hi there! After the Phonetic Object box and extensions are presented and mastered, I love to introduce these phonetic reading cards. They are a fun way to get in more reading practice and really build the child's confidence. For longevity, I print these on cardstock and then laminate. You can keep the whole set together or rotate through a few at a time. I tend to keep the set together, as children usually go through these cards very quickly.

I recommend keeping a small jar of reading strips like these on your reading shelf as an additional resource for children who struggle with tracking.

I like to keep a small basket of phonetic reading books on the shelf for additional phonetic reading practice. A couple sets I enjoy are the Bob Books and The Sunset Pond series.

What phonetic book series do you love?

Happy Teaching :)
